Joseph Smith

Is it a bike or is it a plane?

We saw this when we were walking to the tram stop on the way home today. I'm not sure if it was a functional flying machine or not but it looked very impressive and was attracting quite a bit of attention.

Missionary chilli challenge

These videos are doing the rounds in our ward at the moment. Elder Pass's reaction is priceless.

More athletics

We went to athletics again today. This week they did javelin and shot put.

I spotted this cherry tree a few weeks ago and when we went past today a few of the cherries were ripe enough to eat. I've also found a good source of blackberries so we'll be going blackberry picking when the time is right.

Athletics

Today we went to Don Valley Stadium so Levi could do some athletics training with our home ed group. He really enjoyed it and can't wait for the next session.

It started to rain after the first couple of activities but it wasn't a problem as they have an indoor training area too.

After the races they had a go at a relay.

Police visit

We went to Barnsley Football Club with our home ed group today as Trish had arranged for us to have a visit from the police.

As well as the usual talks, dressing up and having a go in the riot van we had a demonstration from the dog squad and a presentation from the mounted police. It was great and all the kids really enjoyed themselves.

They asked for volunteers to stash some drug scented items in their belongings to test the dog.

It got very excited when it smelt the cannabis hidden in my bag.

Next they showed us the attack dog.

One of the officers wore the arm protector you can see the dog chewing and then they set the dog on him.

Apparently the white horse is called Dennis.

Afterwards they gave us a tour of the football stadium.
