Big changes

A lot has happened since I last blogged, the main thing being that we've moved to Sheffield. I had several reasons for doing this but it was mainly because I'd finally had enough and wanted to break ties with my parents. I'm not going to write one of those tell all posts but it's safe to say that I've had a lot of really nasty stuff to deal with.

But that's over now and for the first time in my life I'm free. I wasn't sure moving away was the right thing to do so I prayed about it. I advertised our house on the council exchange website and asked Heavenly Father to make things go really smoothly if it was what I was meant to do but to put obstacles in the way if it wasn't. Within two weeks of placing the advert I had a three way swap set up and within two months we'd moved. As well as getting a quick swap I had a lot of other conformations that moving was the right thing to do so here we are.

Our new house is similar to the old one but with a few improvements. It's still a nice solid brick built older house but this one is bigger than the old one. It has space for a table in the kitchen, a downstairs loo, it still has the fireplace in the lounge, it has a pantry, fruit trees in the garden and the shed is heated by the boiler, already has electricity and it's big enough to accommodate the chest freezer that I've always wanted.

One of the things I really hated about Bournemouth was the public transport. It was very expensive and very irregular if you lived on the outskirts of town. We'd often have to wait for over two hours to get the bus home from church on a Sunday but we don't have to worry about that here. The bus stops right outside the house and they run every fifteen minutes on a weekday and thirty minutes on Sundays, we also have the tram which stops at the top of the road, they run every ten minutes on a weekday and twenty minutes on Sunday.

I chose Sheffield because I knew from speaking to Fiona and Annette that there was a thriving home ed community here. They have a lovely group and there are lots of activities we can get involved in.

Our new ward is lovely too, they're very friendly and have made us feel really welcome. I've made some lovely friends at church and out and about. It's also really nice being near to Fiona and Annette.
